About Us

We've made a list of the most commonly asked questions by
prospective agents. If you find you have a question that was not
addressed here, feel free to give us a call
to speak with our knowledgeable staff right away.

What GDS/CRS system do you use?

We currently offer Worldspan to our home-based agents. Our independent contractors will have complete access to this system along with phone support, e-learning, and web-x training. If your travel agency is currently on another GDS, please give us a call about any concerns you may have about switching systems. We're happy to let you speak with some of our agents that changed systems when they came to Travel Quest.

Do you have a start-up fee?

We have a one-time set-up fee of $100/agency upon application approval.

When and how do I get paid?

E-mail statements are sent on the 15 th of the month. If the 15 th falls over the weekend or a holiday, statements are sent out on the next business day. After you verify that the commission payments on the statement are correct, you e-mail the statement back to Travel Quest with your approval for payment. Checks are sent out on the 20 th of the month by mail.

How are faxes delivered?

Confirmation and promotional faxes received by Travel Quest are then sent to the agents via e-mail in a .pdf format.

When is my access fee due?

Access fees are due in the office on the last business day of the month for the next month. If the commission check is enough to cover the monthly fee (if you have chosen a plan with a monthly fee), we deduct the fee from the commission check.

Do you have a certain production level I must meet?

There are no production levels that must be met. All agents, regardless of their production level receive the same commissions.

Do you accept all travel agents into your program?

We require that applying agents have at least 6 months experience in the travel industry before they join Travel Quest.

Am I required to give up my clients and my agency name?

No. You are simply working as an independent agent for Travel Quest and keep your own business identity. All clients you bring to and attain while at Travel Quest are your clients and will remain your clients.

Does Travel Quest offer a hotel discount program?

Yes, we have Carlson Wagonlit negotiated hotel rates.

Can I start with the 80/20 split then change plans?

The 80/20 split is intended for agents who are just beginning and may not have a large sales amount yet. Once your business grows, the 80/20 plan may not be the best choice for you and when that time comes you can switch to our 100% commission plan for free and with ease.

Is Travel Quest a member of any consortium?

We are a Carlson Wagonlit Travel affiliate, so yes, I guess we could say we are!

What happens to unclaimed commissions?

With your monthly statement, you will also be emailed a statement for the commissions received in house that we could not find an agent assigned to. From there, you claim any that are yours, and your statement for the month is adjusted.

How will I receive my documents?

All documents are printed at Travel Quest and will be shipped via US Mail, Fed Ex, or UPS at your expense. You simply select a schedule (i.e. every Tuesday) to have your documents shipped out and provide Travel Quest with the postage (documents are also sent on demand when needed). If you select UPS or Fed Ex as your carrier, it is required that you supply Travel Quest with a billable account number. If you choose US Mail, you supply Travel Quest with postage and pre-addressed labels.

What type of fees can I expect?

Postage and monthly access fee aside, there are no fees if all bookings are invoiced properly and payments are on time. However, if a commission has not been invoiced there is a $20 fee/confirmation number. Agents whose monthly access fee is not received in the office by the last business day of the month will be charged a $50 late fee.

Is Travel Quest preferred with Sandals and Beaches?

Yes, we are PSS (preferred Sandals specialists) with Sandals and Beaches. This gives us the ability to book agent rates 90 days in advance, pre-register your Sandals clients before arrival, and earn Sandals marketing dollars.

How does Travel Quest deal with bonus commissions offered by properties direct (i.e. Sandals, Palace Resorts, SuperClubs, Couples, etc.)?

You apply for and receive bonus commissions directly from the properties.

Do you provide Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance?

Yes. Although we always encourage our agents to carry their own E & O since our policy covers all of our agents.

When will I receive my IATAN card?

After you have met the eligibility requirements for IATAN, you will be able to receive your card.
